What makes the Lutheran College Fairs successful?

Each fair is sponsored by LECNA in collaboration with local pastors, youth directors, church members, guidance counselors, and local Lutheran College/University support.

LECNA coordinates the physical arrangements for each fair, handles the registration, prints and distributes promotional materials, offers advice and support to the local leadership constituencies, and provides on-site management at the fairs.

College Fair Staffing

Institutions registering for the Lutheran College Fair events agree to have at least one admission staff member and/or trained alumni representative available during the scheduled hours of the fair. The utilization of alumni representatives is encouraged in areas where you may not otherwise travel. There is not a percentage limit placed on the number of alumni representatives you may choose to represent your institution at our Lutheran College Fairs.

Lutheran College Fair Programming

We will be offering financial aid seminars at all event locations and college/career planning seminars at select Saturday and Sunday events. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at all events. We have found that we can contract for hors d’oeuvres and beverages rather than paying for meeting room space. The hotel can meet minimum revenue projections through food/beverage sales as well as room rental.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation continues to support these events as an integral part of LECNA’s overall marketing efforts. Their support reduces your cost to participate in the college fair program. We are indeed grateful and blessed to have their support and interest in our Lutheran colleges and universities.

Local Leadership Efforts

Promotional committees (comprised of local thought leaders who will work in their communities to promote the event held in their area) have played an important role in enhancing our Lutheran College Fair events. Local leadership committees are active in St. Louis, Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, Seattle, and other cities. Every effort is being made to enhance the local leadership program.

Church Relations

Please talk with your church relations director and encourage him/her to contact churches in areas where we are hosting Lutheran College Fair events.
